How Things Change

Quickly. Things always seem to change quickly. Over the last few weeks many things have happened, and it’s time to catch up.

Yes, I have a paying job. I was fortunate enough to be hired at the office where I was working as an intern. I’m now an animation production assistant, and it’s a great place to start.

I’m doing many of the same things I did as an intern, plus some. Not surprisingly, the responsibility is a bit higher when you’re getting paid to do the work.

As it turns out, being an intern was like being on the longest interview of my life – about ten weeks. But hey, it paid off. Or it will. Whenever that paycheck starts to show up. Any day now.

Err… I hope that paper work went through.

Since my school semester ended, and I had a reason to stay in town – work, work, work – I had to find a new place to live.

I looked all over. In the end, I found a great spot that is much closer to work. Thankfully, I no longer have to spend an hour in traffic to get home everyday.

Unfortunately, this means I no longer spot too many vanity plates.

Additionally, I’m done with school. That’s right, I’m officially quits with the world of academia.

Graduate school was the best time I ever had in my formal education. I suppose it had to do with many things. I have a great group of friends from school. My degree was focused on something I happen to love doing – writing. And, I also had some pretty amazing professors.

Speaking of teachers, I’m apparently now qualified to be one. Since my degree is as high as it goes in my field, I could potentially be a college professor.

So, maybe I’m not done with academia. Maybe I’ll go back and teach a few classes.

Or, maybe I’ll go back just so I can get a cool vanity plate.
